Thoughts on Own Your Everyday

Hey Beauties!

I don’t know about y’all but I’m a huge reader! One of my goals this year is to read two books a month, and so far I’m on track 🙂 I think it’d be fun to share some of my thoughts on the books I’m reading & what I’m learning, hoping it can help y’all!

The first book I read in January was Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley. What I love about this book is how she has tangible takeaways and steps to help you move forward! I read a lot of self help type books and this one is amazing, still so different then the others and definitely worth the time to read! She communicates so clearly and shares from her personal experiences in life throughout the entire book and I really appreciate that, I love vulnerability, it’s so real! I love reading a book, where I feel like the writer and I are sitting down for coffee just talking, and that’s what reading Jordan’s book was like!

I won’t give away the whole book with all of my favorite parts but I wanted to share one of my takeaways which has already helped me & clarified so much of my journey up to this point in my life – that is, reminding myself where I put my faith & that I have control of where I decide to put it. In this particular part of the book, she pinpoints- instead of focusing on and trusting the process of whatever you’re doing, to trust and put our faith in the fact that the bigger purpose God has for us will always break through our plans. How powerful is that!!

I absolutely love it!! If you’ve made or want to make changes in your life, wanting to level up, develop yourself more, etc, this is the perfect book for you especially to kick off the new year!

Also, if you’re into podcasts, she has an amazing one called, She podcast, it’s so good!! I look forward to listening to them every week!

If you’ve read this book or are going to read it, let me know your thoughts!! I’d love to hear from you!

Xoxo,
